Hello everyone lets talk about this LG V20. Let’s look at the outlook of the phone first. It is a metal body design which is different from the V10. The LG V20 features a normal camera plus a wide angled lens.
Overall, the dual camera found on the LG V20 is fun instead of providing excellent photo quality. It takes too long to cover all the features in the camera but the manual mode found on the LG V20 will suit most professional photographer’s need. You can change virtually any settings and the ultimate weapon of this phone is the manual mode video which is not found in all other flagships except last year’s LG V10 you can change anything like white balance, recording volume, shutter speed and ISO speed on the go. For those how know how to use that, the LG V20 is a must have phone And theLG V20 even features professional sound recording options, You can call that “the phone for a cam man”.
Content creators can use the phone to record their footage. Some may say: “I can use a video camera instead of a phone!” Well. You can have your phone right over your pocket but not the video camera. The big selling point of the dual camera is the wide angled lens. You will found the view is super wide this shocking wide-angled lens is suitable for taking landscape photos.

LG V20 Sound Quality
Another deadly weapon is the sound quality. The speaker just okay, but the 3.5 mm headphone jack and B&O headset is comes with the phone which is miles better than other flagships and the Quad DAC made this good phone even better which blow all other phones away. Not only the sound playback but the sound recording of the LG V20 is outstanding. You can record 24 bit 96KHz audio right over the phone on both the sound recorder and the camera.
Let’s have a look at the recording app. You got a lot of professional options over the app lot’s of indicators and controls you can change the setting on the go. IR blaster is another feature that so much not all flagships got this which can control TV, Air-con, projectors and a learning mode for the rest.
LG V20 Performance
The phone is snappy and found no lag. It seems that it’s not bright enough especially under bright sun light I found it difficult to see the content. The situation is even worse in the camera app. It surely save a lot of juice but it just not a good experience taking photos under bright sun light For the performance in Geekbench 4 The S820 SOC scored pretty well. However, if we compare the performance with the Apple A10, Samsung Exynos or even Huawei Karin 960 The S820 just not the best performer.
Overall, The performance is not the top on the list and it is not the king in camera part. But it really fun ultra wide angled lens and hand recognition selfie all these functions are found only on LG devices selfie sticks are no longer needed with this phone and a high-quality audio playback.
Battery, SIM, Display
User replaceable battery and dual SIM are rarely found on any flagships nowadays. V20 just got all these welcomed features and the dual SIM slots are not the share slot design you can insert two SIMs and microSD card at the same time almost no one have this nowadays. The second display also made this LG V20 unique. There are Apps shortcuts which allow you to launch the App in no time. You can customize the second display, the second display improved a lot compare with the V10 that is handy and more useful more choices more options and more way to use it. The phone is too slippy with all metal design a rubber case is preferred for better gripping and handling.
It is especially important when you take photo and video a lot. and App drawer is gone by default. Luckily, you can turn it back on. But you have to drill into the setting menu to do that. A main weak point of this phone is the auto mode photo and video. The Auto mode photo just always did poor during low light and the auto video mode always takes night video that is overexposed.
But if you know how to use the manual mode, that becomes a different story. The LG V20 is a very good phone but if you are not playing with the manual control, LG V20 may not the best option for you since the auto mode photo and video is not very good. If you got the basic knowledge, and you want to play more with the phone and if you want professional video and sound willing to spend some time on the settings, then V20 is your choice but if you still want a phone with high quality music and user replaceable battery, V20 still your choice.
